I acknowledge and confirm that, by engaging in the GSEN Mentorship Program, I agree to and will comply with the following terms:
1. I have read and understood the following documents:
a. GSEN Mentorship Program Policy; and
b. Mentorship Overview on this website.
2. I understand the key values of GSEN’s Mentorship Program are:
a. inclusivity: embrace global diversity of backgrounds and perspectives;
b. mutual growth: both mentors and mentees benefit through learning and connection;
c. ethics & respect: uphold trust, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions; and
d. empowerment: enable real-world impact through knowledge sharing and
collaboration.
3. I will comply with all policies, rules and guidelines established by GSEN/SpaceBase for the Mentorship Program. I understand failure to comply with these expectations may result in my termination from the Mentorship Program.
4. I understand the Mentorship Program policies and expectations may be updated by GSEN/SpaceBase and that I may be required to review the updated versions and will may be bound by those polices and expectations whether or not I have reviewed them.
5. GSEN/SpaceBase makes no guarantee that participation in the Mentorship Program will result in specific career advancements, job placements or business opportunities;
6. I waive all claims against GSEN/SpaceBase for and any damage I may suffer in connection with my participation in the Mentorship Program and hold harmless GSEN/SpaceBase including its staff, officers, volunteers and directors, from any and all Damage I may suffer in connection with my participation in the Mentorship Program and I have voluntarily agreed to this waiver.
7. I understand the term “Damage” encompasses direct, indirect and consequential damage, regardless of cause, and includes:
a. bodily injury or health impairment,
b. damage to or loss of property (including loss of use, and
c. loss of revenue or profits.
8 I will not disclose any confidential information shared during the Mentorship Program, including confidential information discussed or shared otherwise (such as in interactive sessions or by written correspondence) between the Mentor and the Mentee, and including commercial information I may come into knowing about GSEN/SpaceBase, without explicit permission from GSEN/SpaceBase or the owner of that confidential information. I understand:
8.1 this does not apply to information already publicly known through no fault of the Participant, lawfully obtained from a third party or required to be disclosed by law; and
8.2 this obligation to not disclose confidential information persists indefinitely, including after the conclusion of the Mentorship Program, or after my leaving the Mentorship Program.
1. Definition
A conflict of interest occurs when an individual’s personal, financial, or other private interests interfere—or appear to interfere—with their professional responsibilities and decisions. Both actual and perceived conflicts must be taken seriously to protect the integrity and trust of the organization.
2. Disclosure
All individuals must promptly disclose any potential or actual conflicts of interest to the appropriate authority (Mentorship Program coordinators). Full transparency is required to ensure accountability and fairness.
3. Recusal / Abstention
Any individual who has disclosed a conflict of interest must recuse themselves from related discussions, decisions, or votes. This ensures that decisions are made objectively and without undue influence.
